Yes — BestUPVC Doors is fully FENSA registered. This means every window and door installation we carry out automatically complies with UK Building Regulations and is self-certified without the need for a local authority inspection. You receive your FENSA certificate within 30 days of installation — this is important if you ever sell your home.

All our installations are carried out by our own directly employed Yorkshire fitters — we never use subcontractors. This means we can fully stand behind the quality of every job and our 15-year guarantee applies without any conditions relating to who fitted your products.

We have been installing uPVC doors and windows across Yorkshire since 2010 — over 15 years of experience. In that time we have completed more than 2,400 installations for homeowners across Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford, Harrogate, York and the surrounding area.

In most cases, no. Replacing doors and windows like-for-like is classed as permitted development and does not require planning permission anywhere in Yorkshire. However, if your property is in a conservation area, is a listed building, or if you are significantly changing the size or appearance of an opening, you may need consent from your local council. We always check this for you during the free home survey.

We offer a full 15-year parts and labour guarantee on every door and window we install. This covers defects in materials or workmanship, failed glazing seals, hardware failures under normal use and all labour costs to rectify any covered issue. For full details see our Warranty page.

uPVC & Composite Doors

Questions about our door installation service across Yorkshire.

uPVC front doors in Yorkshire start from around £750 fully fitted, including removal of your old door, professional installation and a 15-year guarantee. The final price depends on the style, colour and glass design you choose. We always provide a fixed written quote after a free home survey — the price we quote is the price you pay, with no hidden charges on the day.

A composite door has a solid timber core surrounded by foam insulation and a tough GRP outer skin, making it heavier, more thermally efficient and more secure than a standard uPVC door. Composite doors also have a more realistic timber appearance and never need painting. uPVC doors are lighter, slightly less expensive and available in a wider range of styles. Both come with our 15-year guarantee.

Most single door installations are completed in 2–4 hours. Bi-fold door installations typically take a full day depending on the number of panels. Our fitters work cleanly and efficiently and will leave the area tidy before they go.

Our uPVC and composite doors are available in over 20 colours including white, black, anthracite grey, chartwell green, rosewood, golden oak, midnight blue, red and more. Many doors are also available in two-tone finishes — a different colour on the inside and outside. Visit our Doors page to see the full range.

Yes, generally. The solid timber core and thicker construction of a composite door makes it harder to break through. We also fit anti-snap, anti-drill, anti-pick cylinders as standard on every composite door. Both uPVC and composite doors come with multi-point locking as standard.

Bi-fold doors in Yorkshire start from around £2,200 fully fitted for a 2–3 panel set. Larger sets of 4–7 panels range from £3,500 to £6,500+ depending on size, frame material and glazing choice. We give fixed, itemised quotes after a free home survey with no hidden charges.

Yes — if your existing frame is in good condition, we can often fit a new door into it without replacing the whole frame. Our surveyor will assess this during the free home visit and advise you on the most cost-effective option.

uPVC Windows

Questions about window installation and replacement across Yorkshire.

uPVC windows in Yorkshire start from around £350 per window fully fitted including removal of the old window. A full house of 8–10 windows typically costs between £3,000 and £6,000 depending on size, style and glazing. We offer fixed quotes after a free survey — no hidden costs.

Double glazing has two panes of glass with an argon-filled gap between them for good insulation and noise reduction. Triple glazing adds a third pane for even better heat retention — ideal for north-facing rooms, rooms on busy roads, or homes in exposed parts of Yorkshire. Both are A-rated. Our surveyor will advise which is best for your specific rooms.

Key signs your windows need replacing include condensation between the panes (this means the seal has failed), draughts around the frame, difficulty opening or closing, visible damage or rot, or windows that are more than 20 years old. Our surveyor can visit your home for free and give you honest advice on whether replacement is necessary.

A single window typically takes 1–2 hours to fit. A full house of 8–10 windows is usually completed in one day by our two-person team. We minimise disruption to your home and leave everything clean and tidy.

We install all the main uPVC window styles including casement windows, sash windows, bay windows, tilt and turn windows and fixed-light windows. All are available in A-rated double or triple glazing and in 20+ colours. Visit our Windows page for the full range.

Replacing old single-glazed windows with our A-rated double-glazed units can save around £235 per year on heating bills in a typical 3-bedroom semi-detached Yorkshire home, according to the Energy Saving Trust. Upgrading failed double glazing also makes a significant difference to comfort and energy efficiency.

Conservatory Roofs

Questions about conservatory roof replacement across Yorkshire.

Conservatory roof replacement in Yorkshire typically starts from around £4,500 for a solid tiled roof on a small to medium conservatory. The final price depends on the size of your roof, the system chosen and whether any structural work is required. We give fixed written quotes after a free home survey.

In most cases, replacing a conservatory roof like-for-like does not require planning permission. It is classed as permitted development. If you are in a conservation area or the roof is changing significantly in height or appearance, you may need consent. We always check this for you as part of the free survey.

Most conservatory roof replacements are completed in 1–2 days. Larger or more complex roofs may take 3 days. We give you an accurate timeframe when we provide your quote.

Yes — a solid tiled warm roof with a plastered internal ceiling transforms your conservatory into a fully insulated room that is comfortable in both winter and summer. Our customers regularly tell us they use their conservatory every day after the roof replacement, having previously only used it 3–4 months of the year.

In the vast majority of cases, yes. We fit the new roof system onto your existing uPVC or aluminium frame, which saves significant cost. Our surveyor will assess the condition of your frame during the free home visit and advise honestly.

Costs & Payment

Questions about pricing, deposits and payment options.

The only exception is if you request additional work not included in the original quote, in which case we will provide a revised written quote and obtain your agreement before proceeding.

We accept payment by bank transfer, debit card and credit card. We do not accept cash payments over £500. Payment is due on the day of installation upon satisfactory completion of the work.

The Installation Process

What to expect on survey and installation day.

We typically survey within 3–5 working days of your enquiry and can usually install within 3–4 weeks of your order being confirmed. We will give you an exact installation date when you place your order. In some cases we can work to tighter timescales — please ask if you need a faster turnaround.

Simply clear furniture and personal belongings away from the windows or doors being replaced. Our team will protect your floors and surrounding area. You don't need to do anything else — we handle everything from removal of your old products to making good of the surrounding area.

Yes — removal and disposal of your existing doors, windows and frames is always included in our price. We take everything away and leave your home clean and tidy. There is no extra charge for this.

Yes — making good of any minor plasterwork or render disturbed during installation is always included in our price. We aim to leave the installation area in the same or better condition than we found it.
